Oriens Capital donates to Tauranga Community Foodbank

As part of Oriens Capital’s corporate giving scheme through the Acorn Foundation, the Oriens team have chosen to make its second donation of 2022 to the Tauranga Community Foodbank.

Tauranga Community Foodbank is a local charity who support individuals and families in need through the provision of food parcels. In the last year, the Foodbank provided 6,900+ food parcels helping 18,556+ people in the community. The Foodbank also collaborates with their clients and other social service organisations to ensure appropriate “wrap around” support is provided to individuals and families in need of wider assistance, such as financial mentorship / budgeting skills.

When speaking with Tauranga Community Foodbank Manager Nicki Goodwin, she noted how the increased demand they were seeing was due to the pressure of rising rents as well as food and petrol prices, leaving incomes very stretched. The Oriens team also felt this donation was timely given the increased cost pressures with Christmas just around the corner.

Oriens Capital’s donation will be used directly to purchase food to supply more food parcels in the community.
